Meenmutty waterfalls is the tallest water falls in Kerala and also one of the most beautiful waterfalls, falling from a height of some 980 ft in Wayanad district of Kerala. It is one of the famous tourist spot in south India. The peak is famous for its wilderness and Meenmutty Falls is the largest and most spectacular waterfall in Wayanad.Falls from a height of 984 feet, Meenmutty Waterfalls is the second highest waterfall in Kerala. The fall is nestled amidst the lush green area of Mepadi forest range, under the South Wayanad forest division, at Chitragiri on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The waterfall is a divided into three tires, each measuring a length of 300 feet. Streams of the water gain its fierce strength during the months of monsoon. Like other waterfalls of the region, Meenmutty waterfalls offer a perfect backdrop for the trekkers to indulge in hiking activity. Nearby interesting waterfall destinations are Kanthanpara Waterfalls, Sentinel Rock Waterfall and Soochipara Waterfalls. It is well connected by road with Kalpetta.
The three-tiered Meenmutty waterfall is most spectacular waterfall in Wayanad District, is a 2 km hike though the jungle from the main Ooty Road. It is a vast waterfall and the one most unspoiled in its natural setting. Each of its three tiers requires a separate hike through a moist, deciduous forest.The path is quiet dangerous and tiresome.but the waterfalls is worth it.
